Over the weekend, our Founder and Director, Jeri Baker, has been in Germany at the Karl May Festival! The festival, which serves as a celebration of famous adventure author, Karl May, and the "Wild West," is an amazing opportunity to educate and exhibit the beauty of Native American culture.
Hundreds of thousands of people visit the festival each year and get to see traditional dances, learn hand games, and hear long-told stories from Native American people.
Our incredible One Spirit Germany team works year-round to prepare for the festival and other opportunities to talk about life on Pine Ridge Reservation and Lakota traditions. It is always a joy to work with these incredible men and women who care so much about supporting the Lakota people from thousands of miles away.
